TriEMS Introduces CryptoBooster™ World's fastest family of 64b/66MHz PCI Security Accelerator Cards at 17,600 tps

Eliminating Cryptography Bottlenecks With Latest Generation Secure eCommerce Processors Sustains up to 17,600 RSA and up to 2,000 IPSec Transactions per Second

Anaheim, Calif. – October 26, 2001 – TriEMS, a provider of Internet security solutions, announced CryptoBooster, family of products designed to accelerate the authentication functions of throughput per board from 800 up to 17,600 Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and Transport Layer Security (TLS) transactions per second; and from 310 up to 2000 IPSec (3DES+MD5/SHA1) transactions per second. This represents the optimal processing level to match the throughput of today's advanced network equipment operating at the OC48 2.5 Gigabit per second transfer rate.

With simple drop-in and auto installation, CryptoBooster off-loads demanding public key operations to the on-board processors, a high performance cryptographic engine provided by Broadcom Corp. (Nasdaq: BRCM). CPU resources are greatly reduced for SSL authentications, resulting in dramatically improved server performance and faster response to customers using secure sites. Additional server platforms are not required, resulting in large amount of cost savings on equipment and associated software, maintenance and system integration.

Ease of use and simple installation of CryptoBooster is well suited to current server or Web hosting infrastructures. SSL technology is frequently used in these Internet business environments, and performs both authentication and encryption for the secure processing and transmittal of credit card or other private information. By greatly speeding up secure Web transactions, the CryptoBooster enhances the use of the Internet as a tool for e-Commerce that mandates the protection of personal and proprietary information while conducting business and banking transactions, communicating via email, and transferring sensitive information. The device performs all security-specific processing required for SSL and TLS transactions, the de facto standards implemented in Windows Explorer® and Netscape® browsers for secure Web transactions.

The CryptoBooster provides all the cryptographic and peripheral support necessary for high-performance SSL/TLS encrypted connections that rely heavily on compute-intensive RSA transactions. CryptoBooster can incorporate up to four cryptographic processors on a single PCI card, minimizing the need for multiple boards, and offer the ability to use multiple cards in a system to further enhance the system’s performance. The CryptoBooster accelerates ARCFOUR up to 3,200 Mbps and supports 3DES and DES symmetric algorithms, MD-5/SHA-1 hash algorithms and random number generation through its 64-bit 33/66 MHz PCI 2.2 interface. For IPSec applications, the CryptoBooster supports 310 up to 2,000 Mbps bulk payload processing (3DES, MD5/SHA1) and set up 12,000 VPN tunnels or Internet Key Exchange sessions per second per board.

The CryptoBooster supports Windows 2000
, Linux, Solaris and VxWorks. It is compatible with Microsoft® IIS® and Apache® Web servers. Product will be competitively priced and samples are available now. Production quantities of CryptoBooster 800 series adapters are available now selling price starting at $0.71/tps for $572 per 800 tps. The CryptoBooster 4400 series adapters are sampling to qualified OEMs now, with production quantities scheduled for the first quarter of 2002.
